I'm having a problem with my Visor Solo and Outlook Express (ver. 5)...

If I try to HotSync my email with Outlook Express on WIN98 SE it works fine the first time. On the first Hotsync you see the
Outlook box come up and check for email. On the second Hot Sync that doesn't happen any more. Yet, you see Syncing Mail show up in the Hot Sync screen. I check the Hot Sync logs and everything says OK. Yet I don't receive any emails, nor get any sent. They just seem to go into limbo. Plus, if you use Outlook Express all the emails on the Visor disappear after a second Hot Sync.

The only way to get it to work again, but only one time, is to reset the visor and reboot the computer.

I've called Customer Service several times. They don't have a clue, saying that they're going to send it to someone higher up. And, that I would have to wait 3-5 days.

We've also tried Outlook 2000 and Eudora Pro and the same thing happens.

Here are some other details:
-Under Hot Sync action for Mail it is set to Sync the files and Microsoft Outlook Express is the set as the mail system.
-Email works fine in outlook.
-All other applications Sync perfectly.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Your problem is not uncommon, and there is a fix. Go to this link...

Right.
But it only works with the US Version of IE/Outlook Express. There is currently no fixed version for the foreign (German etc.) versions of OutlookExpress...
After two days playing with my PC and Visor I gave in and installed the US Version - who needs German Menu-Bars anyway ?
I have been using OutlookExpress for 2 days now and it seems to work all right... at least for now.
I will keep you posted if I have the same problems...

Thumbs down

I think I have the most recent version of Outlook Express (5.00.2919.6600)? Also, we reinstalled it hoping that it might resolve the problem, but no luck. What next ?

Ok, folks try this...
If you are using the Chapura conduit which came with your Visor, then here is what worked for me (after I upgraded to Win 98 SE - which upgraded my Outlook Express and IE without my approval):
Go to Control Panel and double click the Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab and check to see that E-mail is set to Microsoft Outlook (instead of Outlook Express). This worked for me and I use Outlook express to check email (you will have to disable the "default emailer check" in order to have the two Outlooks co-exist).
