Okay, now that my wish came true and I can get the Edge for $300 and the Visor Phone for $99, should I get them both?

Considering the whole Edge Connector sled, is adding a Visor Phone to that feasible? I know it works, technically, but does it look/ feel really ridiculous?

Any Visor Edge/ Phone users out there care to help me out? Let me know what your experiences with the Edge and the Phone together are.

I would consider a Prism instead, but I'm not quite happy enough with the Prism's screen to justify the extra $100. Color is definitely something I want eventually, but I don't think I need it now, considering the current state of the art. Even the M505 screen looks like crap to me. I guess I've been spoiled with laptops for too long.

Also, is there any word when the Stowaway for Edge is supposed to come out? A Visor without a Stowaway is like an opera without the Fat Lady.

I share your concern about the appearance. The slim, metallic edge, connected to the bulky, asymetrical sled, attached to the protruding, irregular visor phone would produce a deformed, oversized beast of mythological proportions.

Keep in mind that the sled hanging off the edge is thicker than the edge, and the phone hanging off that will make the combination thicker still. From the side, you'll get a "reverse-staircase" profile. Then you've got to think about finding a generic case big enough to carry it in.

It all depends on how much you value forom over function.

If you're going to go for that...

The best bet may be to look into Kensington's gizmo for the VisorPhone (that lets it work when not in the Springboard slot). If the VisorPhone could download the names and phone numbers from the address book, that would make for a great combo. (AFAIK, it doesn't do that but it might be possible for Handspring to add that capability if there's enough demand. Again, this is just my understanding--I could be wrong. I'd love it if someone could say "Oh, it can do that now"--and back it up.)
