I have read on the Handspring site that there is rumors of FranklinCovey developing a springboard. Anyone know if this is true and what type they are looking at ? I use Ascend w/ my Palm Pilot III now and cann't wait to get my Visor.

Okay. I have just read an article on CNN that listed what Franklin Covey has planned for the SprintBoard. Unfortunately, it is only their Reference Library (which they have .doc format) for the Pilot. At least it won't take up any more memory

I would like to have the Oxford Dictionary of the English Language on a springboard, with pictures and all, and when you click on any word you'll get a 48Hz pronunciation in stereo. COOL.

I'd settle for a non-talking American Heritage Dictionary or the like. Seriously, this makes the Visor an entry in the E-Book market, which is just getting warm, and should be a major market in the next 18 months or so (my opinion only, based on what I've read in the trade rags and seen on the news - don't make any investments based on my advice!).

Didn't Handspring list Penguin or who ever is printing the Trek books as one of the developers of Springboards?

I'm not a Trek fan, but I know lots of other geeks (I'm counting myself, there) who are.

There was an article in US News & World Report last week, about Handspring. The article said that there was a dictionary springboard in development (I think it was Webster's) from a company called "Landgear".

landgear.com is a bicycle business, so I thought maybe they really meant LandWare, who already makes Palm products. But there's nothing on Landware's web site.

Does anybody know more about this springboard? Having a good dictionary springboard makes the Visor that much more interesting to me.
