weird sync problem

Here it is, my deluxe will sync just fine ONCE, then the hotsync software will not see anymore sync attempts until my machine is rebooted then it will work fine for ONE sync.
It is plugged into a hub, but worked fine previously, this is a new problem and nothing has changed on the machine to precipitate this problem. Reinstalled the palm desktop software as well.
(although previously i could only sync a couple/three times before the hotsync would stop responding and i'd have to reboot)
The hub sees the activity from the cradle(indicator light flashs), but the hotsync software doesn't respond.
Any ideas/solutions for this problem?

Some stuff to try

Hey,

I used to have the same problem with my solo. After I bought my edge and my wife inherited my solo I figured out the problem. After time the cradle gets worn out and the visor does not sit in it properly. Try pushing down the visor while syncing. It worked for me. I would do the same thing that you did reboot etc etc and it was something stupid like that.

You can also try using the USB utility from handspring. This is windows only. What system are you using?

It's win98SE, i tried the handspring usb utility already, and it's a secure connection physically...cause i do'nt touch it, just reboot the pc and it'll work again just once...that's what's baffling...i used to be able to get 2-3 syncs per boot before hotsync stopped responding, now it's 1...
