Question

I started out with a standard because it was my first PDA and it was a bit cheaper.. something I wouldn't feel bad selling if Visor was upgraded in a year or so.

But then I had crazy flashbacks of my old 386 with 40 megs of HD space and nearly panicked.. I don't want to have to go through that again. So I had a debate with myself, and like always, I won and decided to get the Deluxe instead.

In this final (hopefully) hour of waiting, I'm just curious to know what everyone has ordered.

like you, I couldn't resist the temptation of 8megs of memory. Of course, I don't know what I'll do with it yet. Probably carry around a couple novels I'll never read!

Given my years of experience with computer upgrades...I figured I'd better go for the top of the line as soon as possible. And I'm a notorious cheapskate who always refused to buy a PalmPilot because they cost too much!

I am quite sure that 8 meg will be fully utilized in no time.

If there was a 4MB version I might be on the fence, but after messing around with the Palm emulator for a couple of weeks and seeing how my websites were taking between 60-300K each, I decided that 2MB was just not going to cut it.

I think I'll probably fill all 8 in no time flat...I've never had a hard time filling hard drives, no matter what size they are!

Bright Blue Visor Deluxe. I have had a Palm III for about a year and just upgraded it to 8MB about two weeks before the announcement of the Visor (Timing is everyting, after all!) I was constantly bouncing off of the 2MB limit. I won't "fill" the 8MB, but I am good for at least 4 right off the bat. It makes me wonder how I ever used my Palm Pilot Professional with only 1 MB of RAM and NO FlashPro!

Cool

Deluxe. It is still much cheaper than the low end Palm Pilot. And I plan on carrying some largish astronomical databases in my Visor. I am also facinated by Quartus Forth, a *native* (i.e., in the Visor) programming enviroment. So who cares if it is Forth, I always liked that weird language, and now I have an excuse to play with it.

Cool

Delux.

(You realize, of course, that the folks here are probably more likely to shell out for the extra memory than the average buyer?)
