I bought the Backup module last Friday and it worked perfect the first time. Today, it took about 20 tries and 1 hour to back up my VD with about 3MB of data. I kept getting the "Backup failed." message. I kept the module in the VD for the weekend and tried to use it this morning. I took it out and put it back in about 6 times. Then for some reason it worked- What's up with that?
Any suggestions out there?
Thanks

Sounds like either a bad module or hack interference. I've had my Backup Module for about a month and us it 3-4 times a week. So far no failures on backing up my 4+ MBs of data.
You may also want to check how new your batteries are (a long shot).
Take care,
Jerry

I would do the "usual" and disable all hacks and do a soft reset, then try it again.
The only problem I've had with the Backup Module was that after it was done backing up, if I didn't get out of the backup program before removing the module, my visor would lock up.
Good luck.

Thanks for the help friends. I tried the soft reset, I don't run any hacks at all- just standard software and Handbase. Still getting the "Backup failed" message each time I try to backup the VD. I guess it's back to Best Buy tomorrow.

This probably doesn't apply to you DS, but I've heard a couple of people 'messed up' their modules when they took them out while the system was trying to read/write to them.
Just a thought for all of us who use *any* module... (I think I'm paranoid about it now )

Well I got my new backup module last week and then hit the road on marketing calls. The backup module worked perfectly and with no access to my PC I didn't have to worry about losing data. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help. I guess it was just a bum module.
