Red face

by christmas i will either get a visor platinum or visor prism. iv heard that the prism is horrable in daylight but the platinum's backlight is useless. please give me suggestions of what to get and why it would be better than the other.

thanks
bob

By Christmas you may have some much better choices of PDAs.

In terms of screen visibility, if you're going to spend most of your time in dark places, the Prism is a whole lot better--the Plat backlight is usable in near darkness, but it's pretty useless (IMHO) in dim-but-not-really-dark areas like some restaurants, before a movie starts, etc.

If you're in really bright places, the Plat would be much better. I can stand in the blazing sunlight with a crystal-clear image, while the Prism screen would be almost like it wasn't even on.

I guess you knew that already. :P Have you tried them out yet? If it's a toss-up then you might take your chances and check out the m505. The new Handera seems to have a decent backlight just from the pictures of it on the web.
