As much as I would like to think that the Visor Twist will sport an advanced color screen, I can't help but think that the naming is far too obscure for Ed Colligan and the rest of the Handspring Marketing team. The naming for the rest of the handhelds are more straightforward and understandable to the average customer: Solo (no cradle, less memory, entry-level device), Deluxe (cradle, more memory, more colors), Platinum (color of the case as well as the notion of 'premier' or 'executive' model - like Visa Platinum), Prism (color screen). The typical customer would not associate Visor Twist with great new screen technology. What comes to my mind when I hear 'Twist' is the flexible electronics used by Electrotextiles (see http://www.infosync.no/en/news/n/217.asp), who by the way, have partnered with IDEO, the folks that worked on Handspring and Palm handheld designs (makes you wonder, doesn't it?). While this kind of device would certainly be more of a departure for Handspring than using the twist color screen technology, I just can't belive that they would try to brand that name. For example, you wouldn't expect 'Visor DragonBall', 'Visor StrongARM', or 'Visor Transmeta' (heh), since those terms mean nothing to the typical customer.

In this thread http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...?threadid=12829, biggie_d also points out that the Prism already uses a supertwist nematic (STN) display.

I agree with you, but why would HS register a domain name for some type of cable? I don't think it is a new Visor (unless it is bendable ), but I have a hard time believing it is only a cable too.

A bendable visor? That'd be something.

Maybe a better code name would be "fruit rollup."
