Looks like coverage in California, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Plans to add both VoiceStream and Powertel in the new year.

Woowee!
Just ordered mine! Here's hoping I'll be able to get it before X-mas with the free express shipping!

No money from me yet!
Unfortunatley, I just transitioned to Voicestream. So I guess I should pay $200 more dollars for a visorphone? I don't thinks so! $300 dollars was quite enough, but now $200 more. This is highway robbery! Why don't they just use a gun.

I just saw this on Handspring's site two minutes ago, and was ready to proudly post my scoop on VC. You beat me to it -- AARGH!

Sheesh. I checked the service plans in my area. The comparable plan to my existing one, 1500 minutes nationwide, is $150 a month. That's three times what I'm paying through Sprint PCS. Oh well, it was nice to dream about it.

Whew! This just made my decision easier. As of tomorrow, I am no longer a Visor user.

Handspring will be rolling out service coverage on a regional basis over the next several months, beginning with Pacific Bell Wireless and BellSouth Mobility.
In "several months" the CDMA solutions will be out. In "several months" the Palm-based phones (you remember Palm, they're the ones with the upgradeable flash memory?) will be out. In "several months" even Pocket PC phones will be out.
I can't believe they didn't start out with Airstream - the only nationwide GSM system. I supposed CDMA is the way to go anyway.
Well - I suppose that's what I get for waiting around for yet another vaporware springboard module.
You all take care. This has been a great board for information regarding the Handspring. I only wish it lived up to half its hype. Maybe I'll log on again soon to sell off the Springboards.

A bit too much...
I was a bit taken aback to see a $499 price without activation, being a PacBell user already, that's a lot of money just to reduce the number of gizmos I already carry.
Oh well. I think I'll just update the handset to a new Nokia 8290 - it's $400 cheaper. It was nice to think about it, though.
