has anyone had success using a Powerbook to hotsnyc to the Visor via IR?

Im pretty sure that the visor does not support sync by IR. Im pretty upset about this too.

One thing to note: DO NOT install the enhanced IR files on your visor in an attempt to fix this problem. You *will* have to hard reset and loose everything (yes, personal experience). Handsprings tech support board has a warning against this buried somewhere, but I didnt see it until after I had tried it. I had an old Palm Pilor Pro that only needed the upgrade files to sync via IR when I added the IR upgrade, so Im sure this will happen to quite a few people.

Hopefully they will fix this soon somehow. Already I see the problem with a non-flash based palm.

Howdy...

You guys are looking for answers to IR syncing on the wrong forum. On the "How Do I.." forum there are several posts about syncing using IR communication. I've just ordered a GVD and I can't wait. I'm a big fan of IR communication. When I'm on the road I use IR for printing, scanning, and file transfer with my Toshiba Libretto 100CT mini-notebook. I just posted some questions about using IR and the Visor and got the information I needed. Go check that forum out.

thanks for the suggestion. This being gnerally a Mac thread the question came up about synching with a Mac Powerbook.
