So MiniJam is going to ship with MusicMatch.
Has anyone checked this site out? The current software they have is PC only! I sincerely hope that MiniJam ships out with Mac capatible software.
I wouldn't stake my life on it but, I bet most the owners of Visor handhelds are Mac users.
When is this thing coming out any way?
Today (June 21) is the first offical day of summer

Well, I won't say most visor users are Mac users. But, I will say...That I sure hope they get some type of mac support. If they don't I will sure be looking at the rioport solution. At least I can get a Rioport to work with SoundJam...Of course, I don't know what their plans are for Mac support, I hope they have some.

Exclamation

They better ship it with mac support, otherwise they're going to lose a whole lot of customers. They better ship it with full support too, not some kind of work-around. I certainly am not going to spend all of that money for something that might not work.

Talking

Don't fret Mac users! Just visited the site and they have a Mac beta free to download. Maybe it will be ready by the time the MiniJam is released.

I'm waiting for the MiniJam, but if it has no Mac support, i'll buy a Rio 800 in a second. I need to replace my Rio 300.

Chris:

Do you know where I can find any information on the Rio 800? I saw a picture of the 600 and 800 in a "Wired" magazine ad. But the Media Relations at S3/Diamond won't say anything about beyond the units being "in the prototype stage."

Angry MusicMatch no match for Mac...Yet?

Well I finally broke down and bought a MiniJam for my VDX.
It came in a white box with no unique packaging what so ever from Amazon.com.
There are some disturbing notes I have to say as a Mac user. The CD it came with, though a hybrid, came mostly with Windoze software for the MusicMatch software it is supposed to work with. The Mac folder on the CD contained the MiniJam Browser software, an update patch, and a simple text file telling me to go download MuchMusic for the Mac. So what is the point of burning a CD again?
I know this probably do to shipping and manufacturing conditions, but if your going to put out a product that says its for either platform, make it FOR EITHER platform.
So after downloading MusicMatch (some 30mins later on my 33.6 line) I find out that there is no support currently for the software for my MiniJam. Sure there is software for two standalone players (Nomad and Rio). Furtunately I can use the MiniJam Browser to install my music. What I can't do for some reason is copy the exisiting track on the SanDisk to my computer. I take my Visor from work and home. I was hoping to download music at work (during my lunch breaks) on the T1 and bring them using the MiniJam as a transport device. Is this even possible now?
Some please help!

I think you are bummin'

I believe that you can only add or delete a file to the mmc right now. Innogear claims that they will have a file mover application ready for transferring data from the mmc some time in Q1 2001... I sure hope so. C'mon Andre...
