 MiniJam LED

Anyone know what the MiniJam LED is used for? I've never seen it in any software options, nor has it ever turned on for me.

I also did a search in the User's Manual PDF and didn't find anything.

Originally, it was supposed to be used for silent alarm alerts. It
never came to fruition. Just like storing apps and data on the mmc.
