Better yet...
I also saw in one of the other threads around here that BeamSync can do the same thing, although it's primary use is for Hotsyncing via the IR port. So I tried that out last night and sure enough that let me connect to the internet with my Nokia 6210 via the IR port. BeamSync also has a nice feature that lets you hotsync in the cradle without having to turn anything off (By holding down one of the scroll buttons while you press the on-screen hotsync button).
The BeamSync instructions tell you to install both the SerialIRCommLib and SerialIRPanel files from Palm's IR enhancement update. (With ComLink I only had to install the SerialIRCommLib file). SerialIRPanel gives you an extra Prefs panel where you can specify that serial comms either go through the cradle port or the IR port. It seems you can leave this set to the IR port even when hotsyncing in the cradle.
Just as an experiment I turned BeamSync off and of course hotsyncing with the cradle worked as normal again. But then I tried connecting to the internet via the IR port and that STILL WORKED! I deleted BeamSync (since I don't hotsync through the IR port) and both hotsyncing and IR connections still work. You're still left with the caveat that means you have to enter 00 for the phone number of your ISP to dial and use a script to make the phone dial the actual number, but other than that everything works fine.
BTW this is on a Visor Deluxe and you definitely shouldn't try installing any of the other files from Palm's IR enhancement update as you'll end up having to hard reset. Oh and my Stowaway works fine with this setup too
