I bought a thinmodem module yesterday, and have been able to connect to my local ISP. The problem is trying to use Browse-It. It asks for a username and password, so I entered my own that I made up. When I connect and try to use Browse-It, it says I have entered the wrong password and username. I have visited Puma Technologies, and other sites trying to find the answer to this, but even their FAQ sections provide zero help. Puma wants me to download version 2.0, but has no info on version 1.0 and the passwords I should use.

Go to http://www.intellisync.com/ on your desktop computer and set up an account, then use this username and password in BrowseIt.

Good luck,
Ken

still doesn't work

I've gone to their website, and registered my passwords, etc. I've removed the module, put it back in, entered the same exact passwords/username as the website, and when I try to use Browse-It it gives me this error message:

Error Received
(0x1001) Invalid Username

Do I need to hotsynch after removing the module, then replace the module and re-type the password/username? I did a hard reset after removing the module, and when I replaced it, it acted like this was my first time using Browse-It.

You need to register it with the user name and password provided with the thinmodem.

I don't remember thinmodem giving me the username/password. It doesn't matter anymore, because I downloaded Palmscape and can actually get it to work.

passwords

OK, I went to the thinmodem website, and found a pdf file for applications. Funny -- it's the exact same thing that came in the box -- the Quick Start Guide. Only under the paragraph that says: "Configuring Browse-It" theres some added info:

username: guest password: guest

So I put those passwords in, and get the same error message:

(0x1001) Invalid Username

I would sure love to try Browse-It but they are making it impossible. I've reloaded the flash memory, entered in these passwords, and still same error message. I've done a hard boot, and erased all info, then went into Browse-It and entered the passwords. Same error message. AGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!

Question

Greetings,

Can you copy text from Browse-It into another app, such as the Memo Pad? I'm currently using the old black & white version that came with my Yadayada service, and I hate not being able to copy data from it.

Thanks,
-cnegrad

Red face Registration info

Scottks.

In your box, you should have a card board tri-fold with quick start info on each of the included programs. One of those pages should have a user name and password for you.

If you can't get it to work. Consider my former problem. I recently got a Thinmodem and had problems with a corrupt file on the Thinmodem. I don't know if you are having the same problem, but check out this thread for how I fixed my problem.

Lastly, e-mail CardAccess. They seem to have great customer support.

OK, so I go back to the box and look for something that has the password on it. I find a brochure on Multimail Professional and open it up. Out pops a little note: Browse-It Special Setup that includes the passwords!!!

So I reinstall the thinmodem software and enter the passwords. Now I get this message:

Error FFFFA311
Could not decrypt
Incoming data. Please
verify your username
and password in Settings->Options->General

Which I did, and they are identical to what's on the piece of paper.

I have no problem connecting to my ISP. This Browse-It is something else!

Lightbulb Like I said. . .

Sorry. Like I said earlier, your best bet at this point is to e-mail Card Access for help. They were quick to get back to me. Or, I also find Blazer Web Browser to be equally as good. Good luck.

Finally -- It works!

Tech support emailed me this morning and said they had replicated my latest problem. They said the username was correct but there was a problem with the password. So they gave me a new username/password combo and that did the trick. Thanks to all that have tried to help.
