also, anyone know if the new Vaja case allows it to connect to the keyboard without removing it from the case?

I don't know about the case, but the Delux and the Prism use the same keyboard.

I've got the keyboard and a Prism (but not the case). The keyboard connection to the Visor is minimal. It has two prongs that click into the holes on either side of the hotsync connector contacts and a fold out wire brace for the middle of the back of the Visor. If the case allows access to the entire hotsync connector, including unobstructed access to both those holes, you should be OK.
