Well. Downloaded it. Installed it. I plugged in my makeshift cf-module and it works. Albiet I have not yet tried any of the things that have been giving people problems. But in essence it has a definite prospect of being more far more functional. So... now I just need to know who all is selling proper short cf modules and how much... or even just the plastic casing and short boards.

This is a most excelent developement.

Side note:
You have now for the most part circumvented the trgPro unless they do something really slick their whole claim to fame is SOL (stuck outa luck).

Smile Any parts left?

I cant believe I read all these posts. I havent even received my fist visor yet and here I am looking for add ons. At least I'm in good company here.

I'm also very interested in making my own CF adaptor. Anybody have any of those empty springboard cases left. or even some of those short adapters?

If so you got another buyer.

Short CF flash adapter

I just got my short adapter and bought a Centon 8Mb flash card.

I plugged in the card and adapter into the Springboard slot, and hard reset. I downloaded from here the beta versions of FA FIle Mover, formatter, card info.

Each time I boot up any of these programs, my screen goes to blank white.

Can anyone help?

I just wonder if there are some people in/around Germany
with some Springboard cases left or maybe want to make
a group-order ??

Ordering cases for 150.- DM seems too much for one CF adaptor ;-)

Why have you not made it possible to download the demo from palmgear? Whenever I try and connect via your site I am just given the ability to purchase the full version.

I know there is a link on your site to dl the demo from yahoo but I have zero interest in giving yahoo my email address, regardless of their privacy policies.

If the software is available from palmgear as a trial, could you please provide the url?

Thanks,

satch

No problem, you can grab the 14-day demo from PalmGear too. Go to http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...125092931=12136

Only one level of directory?

I was hoping to pull in JPG images from my digital camera, but they get stored two levels deep. Are there any plans for something like the jpeg viewer from http://www.memplug.com/ ? Are all you flash card vendors working together, so that apps can share a common API?

I second this question. Such an app compatible with the FlashAdapter would be just what the doctor ordered.

If you go to the flashadapter egroup, they are having a poll on what feature they should focus on next:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flash...rveys?id=525450

Currently, the auto-mover is beating out the .jpg storage/viewer 78% to 5%

(note you may need to get subscribe tothe flashadapter egroup before you can view this or vote)

(rant about egroups being absorbed into yahoo deleted)

OK, I voted for "wishlist", but I really think being able to access arbitrary directories on the CF card is more "core functionality" than "wishlist".

The FlashAdapter drivers are not limited to only one level of subdirectories. That limitation is only in the FAFileMover application and it is there to simplify the user interface and operation of the software - not for technical reasons.

A JPEG viewer for the FlashAdapter is almost a certainty ... the only questions are when, and if it is Kopsis or a third party that develops it. The FlashAdapter drivers do provide a general purpose application programming interface (API) that third party developers can use to write compatible applications. We will eventually publish this API, but developers that would like to get early access to it can contact me ([email protected]) for more info.

*sigh* I've not gone back since it was absorbed into Yahoo!, I suppose I'll have to check it out.

Not surprising at all. I even mentioned that likely being the case in a response to James's thread in the News section.

I was already subscribed on Egroups. I actually have to create a new ID again evidently (and join another forum, now?).
