I bought a visor deluxe the very first week they came out, and last summer i dropped it and broke the screen. well, i've gone PDAless since then, but i've got the itch (the pda itch), and i think i'm going to get my baby fixed. has anyone gotten it fixed through handspring? 85 dollars seems kinda high. does anyone know if the screen has been improved since the first models? i remember the screen stratched easily compared to the palm III or V. Is it still the same screen?

-thanks,

Ryan

Ryan,

I dropped my VDX before, and it was tough to be without my PDA for those few days. I thought $85 was worthwhile for a "new" Visor. They overnight it, so you'll get it rightaway. You just send it back in the prepaid box they supply.'

As for scratches, the screen will always scratch. It also depends on the stylus you're using. I cut out a screen protector from a transparency film. The film scratches easily but better that than the screen.

Mike

Cracked screen

Ditto Mike's post. $85 may seem steep, but the option is a new $249 unit. I cannot live without my Visor, so $85 is a steal for a new unit the next day.

yeah, i have no idea how i lasted this long. a day didn't go by that i didn't use my visor, so it wasn't like i didn't use it when it worked. i just forced myself to forget about it because i didn't have the spare money at the time. but i am so excited to have a pda again (well, as soon as i send it in).

BTW- i'm trying to download all the old apps and hacks i used. there is one that i can't find. it was a hack that allowed you to hold the stylus on a program's icon to bring up a screen with all kinds of info and options. you could delete it, choose a category, or beam it and such. i can't seem to find it, but i remember that the person/company who made it had other usefull hacks as well. so far no luck, though.
