Thumbs up

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading this board for a week now and am happy to see some very knowledgeable people happy with their visors. I just received a Visor Platinum shipped from HS in 2 days!!! I am a IIIxe convert and am impressed with the HS VP. It's fast, painted silver, smooth, loves graffiti, expandable and hotsyncs really quick. I imported all my old programs, addresses etc without a problem. But I do have a couple statements/questions.

1. The glass screen is not super tight in the case-but not real loose either just a little play-is this an issue to worry about?

2. Is the paint job durable? I think its hard enamel and should be durable.

3. Love the metal stylus-reset pin and screw driver.

4. Are the buttons in these visors metal or plastic?

thanks,

Lightbulb

1. Screen: Nothing to worry about... it might not seem super, but it's ok.

2. Paint: Time will tell. The Platinum just came out and it's the first with a painted case -- something I think most people aren't incredibly impressed with. Yeah, the color's ok, but the fact that it's painted is a little "less than". It should've been molded that color like the rest of the Visors.

3. Pin&Screwdriver: haven't had occasion to use the screwdriver yet but I'm glad it's there... Reset Pin has been a must since before Palm started it on the III.

4. Buttons: I think they're plastic. They seem like it... and now that I take a closer look, they might even be painted... go figure... maybe that answers #2 as my button show no signs of wear after almost a full year with my VDx.

Oh yeah, BTW, welcome to the club!

Question

Every report I've heard so far (haven't seen one first hand) says it's painted... ??? weird, huh?

It's molded in a light grey, similar to the silver color it is painted. There is overspray on the SB cover slot and the battery cover.

MIKE STH,
What's up with your posts? I've seen them appear as blank on multiple threads. I hit quote on this one and actually can see that you entered something. How are you doing this "invisible ink" thing???
