Same old story. Here's my twist. I have a BVDx. At home, I hotsynch to Outlook 98 using USB (Windows 98, of course). At work, I hotsynch to Palm Desktop with a serial cable. My computer at work runs Windows NT. About a week ago, without warning or any system change, Visor stopped hotsynching at work. I've tried soft and hard reset and reinstalling palm desktop. No luck. The visor still synchs at home, but my primary use is work for my rolodex and appointments. I do not consider myself savvy enough to do registry edits, and in any event, my company has configured NT to preclude employees from tinkering under the hood. Any ideas, anyone? Anyone at Handspring? I don't feel like sitting on hold for two hours, and then, in all likelihood, getting no solution. IF this is not resolved soon, I may have to send it back.

Kliegs,

Same thing here. NT4/serial at work, 98/USB at home. Everything was fine until I started messing with a new X-10 serial device. Two days ago serial syncing stopped, and nothing I tried got it working again, from registry editing to soft and hard Visor resets to reinstalling the Palm desktop and running serial diagnostic checks. I even visited the Palm support site and searched through the Palm III support suggestions. (There's a great idea to use HyperTerminal to see if there is any serial port activity.)

But I finally got things working again. All I did was go into my Control Panel, Ports, and delete the two Com ports that showed (COM1 and COM2) and rebooted. That reboot was something I had done previously, but not before re-adding the ports. After the reboot, I checked again and both ports had been added back in during the reboot. I checked the settings, corrected the baud rate (from 75 to 9600), and tried a hotsync -- it worked!

Hope that helps!
