I'm just full of questions lately

I was wondering about the email waiting light.
Do I have to set it up? If so, how?

I sent email to my yadayada account hoping it would turn the light on but it didn't.

Thanks.

I'm with you Lacutis. I can't get it to come on. I know you have to have your Auto Power Off disabled, but the modem comes that way from the factory. I've sent e-mail to my yadayada e-mail account and patiently waited, but alas, no red light. What gives? Also, is the light only supposed to work for the yadayada e-mail account, or can it work for other e-mail accounts also setup on the modem?

Yeah, my Yada Yada light doesn't do much (except when transfering data) when it comes to email.

Well, I was playing around on my Visor with the Minstrel installed and, lo and behold, the red message waiting light came on. Unfortunately, when I went to check my e-mail accounts, I couldn't connect with any servers, even the YadaYada server, so I had to turn my modem off and turn it back on again. When I did this, the light wasn't on anymore, although when I checked my e-mail, there were messages, but they were all ones I had already read.

Oh well. Does anyone have their message waiting light operating in a predictable manner?

Ron

You know, the same thing happened to me.

The guy I talked to a Yada Yada today said that they do work, but they never did for me.

Mine seems to only come on if I'm connected and have a browser running. If I leave it sitting too long it seems to power itself off and then the red light comes on. It never comes on while I'm actively downloading pages.

Has anyone tried the "PUSH" feature?

Same here with the red light, it only comes on when my Palm turns off in the middle of a connection. After that, I sometimes can't reestablish it with out a warm boot.

Funny, My light comes on when I have email but after retrieving my mail the light wont go off unless I shut down the modem and then reestablish a connection, Anyway I also had the no email light problem before. The fix is to insert your modem and establish a signal. Then click on the green minstrel icon on your home screen. Click on blue minstrel Tab on the top left area of the screen. Click on ADVANCE, then click on PUSH CONFIG and then click ENABELD. Test it by sending your self-email and good luck.

I looked in the "Push Configuration" section and mine was already enabled.

I think its time to call Yada Yada support.

Try talking to this guy Darren on the 800 line. He is pretty good with exhausting every single measure in order to get something to work. Although, sometimes I think he got a little angry with me because I didn't know something or didn't want to accept "Fatal Errahs" whenever I tried disconnected.
