Targus stowaway keyboard fix?

I have a Targus stowaway keyboard for my VDX. Unfortunately, the warranty has expired and it needs fixed. Specifically, one of the little black tabs on the docking station has broken. This means the Visor will not lock/connect correctly. I can type a few words before it leans enough to one side to become disconnected.

Has anyone tried to get around this? I was thinking about taking an old hot sync cradle and make a connector that would fit from the cradle to the keyboard. Is this feasible?

Try contacting Targus. I heard they were very helpful.
