Cool

Since we know that a second generation MiniJam will be coming out, I feel a list of features that Innogear should include with the MiniJam II would be in order.

1. VOICE RECORDER no excuses this time

2. .WMA file support

3. even smaller form factor

4. Can operate without the Visor

5. possible SD (secure digital) card slot with continued support for MMC removable flashcards (these little cards are turning up everywhere, especially in next generation cellphones and PocketPC Next generation Palm Pilots are going to have SD card slots native)

6. Faster USB transfer (a la Good...mp3 player)

7. VOICE RECORDER

8. all the promised file support and transfer of the original Minijam data sheet

9. Extra-high headphone output. I don't mind going deaf.

10. did I mention... VOICE RECORDER

You couldn't have a smaller form factor, & make it run independat of the Visor. If it ran without the visor, you would need to put batteries in it somewhere & that would lead to a bigger form factor.

I'm all for faster transfer rates, but I think that's a limitation of the visor, & not the minijam.

I'm all for voice recording, actually why not throw in a line in jack or digital SPDIF input & do real time high bitrate encryption so you can do your own MP3's potrably from that unit.

Just my $0.02

Lightbulb Run seperate of the Visor?

My take on that is, if you want an mp3 player that is seperate from the visor, then essentially all you are using the visor for is a bettery pack, which is lame IMNHO.

Whit the execption of the smaller size (which you can get in the SoundsGood)and Voice Recorder (which you could get with another module, that is released or soon to be released, the other changes could be occplished with a software upgrade (and depending on how you want the Voice Recorder you could propbly get that with a software upgrade too.) anything else you cna get from the sounds good or a software patch

sam

sorry this didn't make tons of sense my brain is in homework mode

Is that confirmed? What is your source?

MiniJam II

My source for a next generation MiniJam is the Marketing Department of Innogear via email and phone. They said voice recording WILL be a feature.

No firm date has been given. It could be next year. It could be the year after that. Don't wait to buy one on my account if you really want one now. It could be a long time.

My #1 improvement would be faster download speed. It would be neat if I could download music on the road with my Visor modem.

Personally, I like the idea of running it from a Visor simply because the interface could be much more powerful and easier to use. This is something Innogear really didn't accomplish, I think, in the first version of it.

Yeah, I thought the whole idea behind SB's was to make use of the Visor's screen, which obviously almost no MP3 player on the mkt. will have / can compete w.
But you've got to use it well.

If you're listening, InnoGear, you've got another customer if you add voice recording, but (for me) no chance if you're not. Music's nice, but won't add a lot to my (personal) productivity.

You could make the minijam standalone AND have a smaller sivefactor by creating an extra batterypack that uses a springboard compatible slot...

about the transfer speed, I don't think it is a limitation of the visor (in the end it will be but it can get a lot faster first) since the soundsgood seems to make it possible...

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?
