Exclamation

We are working on a new search engine for VisorCentral, and would like to get some of our reader's comments.

You can test the search at http://www.visorcentral.com/newsearch2.php

Be aware, this is a VERY early version. There are hundreds of bugs (we are aware of them), so it is not really usable.

However, what we want to get feedback on is the search results it returns. Are they relevant? Is it what you were looking for?

One last thing... any search word three characters or less is currently ignored.

well, I did a search for "Prism battery Hack", and it cam up with almost every article or news item currently written on VC ( a little exageration). The 5th item was the one that I wanted, so it is fairly accurate, but before the news item that I wanted articles on the body suit case, and a review of the platnium came up. I think that it is a good start as it is very fast, but it comes up with too many hits. All in all, I think that it's a good begenning with the speed increase.

I searched on Anti-virus software and it returned 191 links...needless to say, only a few were relevant! Then I searched on Anti-virus (without the word software)and it instantly returned 9 very good suggestions. It is really fast! It should be wonderful when it's ready for prime time!

Well, I first searched for some non-sensical things and found -- nonsense. labeled 0% relevance, though, so that part works. Then, I searched on "backup" (thought about "backup module" but didn't). Got an interesting variety of results ranging in subject from backing up a PDA to explanations regarding site availability and web server backup. Many good hits given the generality of the search phrase. One article contained a tip about springboard module storage and a link to the Nintendo website where I just purchased some Gameboy Game Paks to hold Springboard modules. I had noticed that they were about the same size. I bought a few extras for my son's Gameboy games that are normally strewn everywhere. Thanks! I'll test some more and post again.
