Question MultiMail questions

I am thinking about purchasing MultiMail professional for use on my prism / motorola combination. Does anyone know if this is the best software to use? All the reviews seem to be positive. My real concern is will MultiMail without the coduit sync to my desktop email client (Outlook)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

IMHO it's the best one. No it won't sync to outlook w/o the conduit.

IMHO suggestion

Yes, but does it load onto the Palm OS? I can't find anything that states this.

Thanks again!

I am using multimail both with a xircom modem and occassionally with my motorola timeport. Multimail is great for really managing your email on the road because of its ability to deal with attachments and the fact that you effectively have no limit to the size of the individual messages. I used the demo without the conduit (it loads fine, just doesn't sync your emails), then decided I should get the conduit. Having used it for about six months, I don't actually think I needed the conduit, which is quite expensive. When I travel, I usually leave a copy of the message on my server, and only download the unread messages onto my visor. When I get home, all the copies get loaded onto my computer, so there isn't much need to use the conduit. I don't find I need or like to have all my emails on my visor when I am not traveling, so the only real use I get out of the conduit is to use it to put a particular email onto my visor. Copying it into Wordsmith or memo would work just as well for the amount of times that I do it. The only time I really used the conduit was on an extended trip to the US that lasted a month.

Happy MultiMail user

I've been using MultiMail for about a year and it works well. I've used it with the conduit and found it to be a pain. Syncing was slow and it didn't make any sense to duplicate mail on both devices. I've used MultiMail with a Handspring modem and now with the Visorphone as an emergency backup mail program and on the road. Recommended.

I would agree with many of the comments made previously, the MultiMail palm side client is a very powerful tool, supporting many of the features of desktop mail clients.

I could not get the conduit to synch directly to my mail server, I think it only works to IMAP4, whereas mine uses SMTP.

Saying that I do find the conduit useful for synching my work in-box to my Visor, and then use my Nokia 6210 or ThinModem to pick up my personal e-mail.

I also couldn't get the conduit to correctly convert attachments, especially using InstallBuddy.

I used it with YadaYada on my Deluxe and now with my Platinum/Sanyo/SprintPCS setup. I never bought the conduit, and it works great. You can setup up to 8 servers to retrieve from: POP, IMap and even NNTP.
