Avantgo kills battery?

I find when I am reading my avantgo 4 articles on my Prism the battery seems to die very quick. If I'm in Avantgo for more than 15 minutes about 1/4 of my battery will be gone. Is this normal??

It seems to be. Not sure why. It may have to do with the fact that it is accessing a relatively large database constantly.
