Question Bad or Good time to buy a Prism?

I just found out today that the Prism has been discontinued. Most of the online sites that I have seen them for sale on before are gone. It also seems that the price has fallen to much lower prices then just not too long ago.

Should I buy a Prism even though they are discontinued or should I go with something like the Neo which they are still making?

Thoughts comments suggestions are very appreciated... I am new at this handheld thing

Talking It's a great time!!

Hey,

The prism is the best handspring device to date. It has a springboard slot which has been discontinued but still loved :-). When I first started my handheld addiction I had the visor solo, then I had the visor edge, now I have the visor prism. I do so much with my prism it is the best. From viewing pictures that I put on it to taking pictures with the eyemodule2 camera. It is the best!! Go to www.consumerdepot.com they have some good deals on the prism there. If you have never dealed with handspring before and want a color device I think that the prism is the best deal. Think of it as a souped up game boy color it actually resembles the game boy and by the way with either shareware or freeware apps you can play game boy games on the prism!! It is cool!! Well enough gabbing I hope that helps.

If you have done your research, decided what you want a handheld to do for you and feel that you can live with the Prism, despite the fact that a new OS is right around the corner, then I say go for it. If you decide up front what you want out of your rig, it will last you a very long time, and probably pretty cheaply right now too.

Thumbs up Price May Be Right!

I was in the same situation - still loving my Visor Deluxe that I have had for so long yet keeping an eye on models recently discontinued. I watched Costco (Schaumburg, IL) drop the Prism go from $299 to $249 to $199, then my magic number - $99! The unit I bought turned out to be defective, brought it back and they only had the disply model (when the day before they had three left). I was lucky enough to find another Costco in Bloomingdale (IL) that had a few left - and this time the one I bought works.

So far, I love it. Quite an upgrade for $99. I have the Magellan GPS module and have really wanted color for the maps for a while.
