Question

If Visor is so great.. and you are able to put 8 MBs of RAM into a springboard.. why can't you add about 64 into a springboard when the MP3-player MiniJam can?

It's not like I'm worried about filling up the free space so fast, but it should be able to do it theoreticly, shouldn't it?

I may be remembering incorrectly, but I seem to recall a limit meantioned in the Springboard specs about the card being limited to 2 memory spaces of no more than 16MB each (for a total limit of 32MB).

So I'm thinking that unless there's another processor on the springboard that's capable of addressing a seperate memory pool, the Springboard is limited to 32MB.

Question

But still? Why only 8 MB? Not that I'll be needing a total of 16 MBs.. or 32 for that matter. But people are saying that when you see something cool, you almost always hotsync it.. and then you'll have to upgrade to get more available memory.

Another thing. This memory springboard, is it possible to store stuff on it, switch to another memory springboard and then fill it up and then go back to the first one without loosing any datas?

Question

What does your question mean?

If your asking why handspring doesn't sell a Visor with more then 8M, my guess would be they figured dubbling the largest capacity seen standard in a PalmOS machine would be fine for a first product.

I'm positave you could put more memory in, but would enough people buy it to make it worth designing and stocking another product?

I think it will take me a while to fill 8M, 2M was only slightly cramped for me. I'm almost sure I'll want more then 8M when I buy my next PalmOS toy, but with luck I won't want one for quite a while.
