Question

Succesfully installed AG on my VDX and on desktop selected channels on G website I wanted to download. After attempting to hotsynching, I got an error message stating that hotsynching was"interrupted" and not all data was backed up.

Viewed log and got error message: "AvantGo Connect cynchronization failed... AvantGo connect failed (error=#4096)"

How does this wk? Also, do I leave Netscape Comm running while synching? Or are there any other steps I need to do... aside from simply going to the AG site, installing AG on my VDX, choosing my channels from the website and finally doing a hotsync?

What to do guys? Please help this newbie. The Help section on AG's site does not address Mac issues specifically or is not too clear for me. TIA.

Did your download the Avantog.MAL file (Mobile application Link) when you setup avnatgo software? You have to install mobilelink on your pda and also double clikc on the avantogo.mal file which selects the avantgo server.
I woud remove avantgo from the visor and start all over. Start the software installation from teh webpage. Rememeber when the step comes to download the MAL fiel, do so, double click on it and watch the setup only then go forward with the rest.

Thanks so much... Have already sort of tried starting from scratch on the visor (deleting and reinstalling) and though somehow now the synching follows through till the end, there are no channels although AG is installed and even though channels have been already chosen...

Have you tried going to your Avantgo web page and deleting the cookies, authentication etc. Its an option all the way down somewhere.
If this also does not work, send an e-mail to avantgo support - they answered my e-mail in a day.
