Dual Mode?

Does any one know or have an opinion on whether the Sprint Treo will be dual mode? I believe the Sprint Visor phone only works in digital areas, which is a bummer! I am hoping the Treo version will work in digital and analog areas, even if the data portion doesn't work in those areas.

Maybe. But Sprint PCS doesn't have an old analog network to provide for its subscribers. So its dual-mode phones will switch to another provider if the SprintPCS digital network is unavailable.

Unlike Verizon Wireless and other 'older' wireless providers, SprintPCS was built with only digital technology. SprintPCSs dual-mode phones are great, but you can rack up hefty roaming charges using another provider's network. But I guess its always nice to have another option.

Woohoo! Almost...

Finally! When I first heard about the Treo, I discounted it because I am a happy SprintPCS user and have no desire to change to VoiceStream for cell phone access.

The only thing holding me back now is that I'd like a color model. And then of course, the only thing holding me back when the color model comes out will be the price... soon, soon my precious...
