Question

I'm considering going with one of these services for use with my Prism. Can someone explain the difference between the two services? I understand they both use the Novatel modem(s) but, aside from pricing specials and wireless carriers (e.g. Verizon or AT&T), what can I do differently with one service or the other?

Is is true that YadaYada allows me to access any website as opposed to Omnisky's "pre-packaged" access? Is there a true advantage to "free" vs "pre-packaged" access? Can I use PQA's with either service? How about differences in the software?

Will the same modem work with either service or am I stuck with whichever service through whom I purchase the modem?

TIA,

D. Trent

I'm not quite sure about the differences in features between OmniSky and YadaYada. I know OmniSky still allows you to access websites outside their pre-packaged sites. It is just these sites are no longer optimized. Meaning that if there are any sort of additions to the website like java applets you will not be able to view that website properly.

As far as PQA's... You will be able to recieve them on the OmniSky service. I'm not an expert on this but I do see that there are PQA's installed when I look at my System Info.

That's all that I can speak to because I just have the OmniSky. My wife would divorce me if I got another gadget
