I found this case by Covertec. I got it today, (after waiting about 2 weeks) and I must say I'm VERY impressed and pleased. The communication from Covertec about the delay was very impressive. The case is well designed, and fit and finish is impecable.


It holds the visor using the Hard cover that came with the Visor, it slides under an elastic strip. The Visor is very secure. It closed with a snap, and, very quite, recessed velcro. There is a slot on the outside to hold the stylus, and its very convienient.


It also includes a very nice belt clip, that locks into place. The case is made of leather, and balistic nylon. Inside the flip open case is a band to hold other papers, and the rest is a soft felt that protects the screen.


The case is very high quality, and its worth the price, its only $30. The only flaw is that I'm uneasy of how protective it is. The other case I have is a Rhinoskin Ti Slider, which is the ultimate in protection, but this case is a lot nice looking. Its available in two colors, grey and black. I bought the black and I'm quite pleased.

I had a few questions I wanted to claify....you say there is a slot for the stylus.....but from the looks of the case, you could just leave (and have access) to a stylus in the Visor, correct?

You also mentioned some velcro, but I see a snap that closes the cover...where is this velcro?

Also, if you have a digital camera (or eyemodule), I'd love to see some more pictures of the outside of the case.

I currently have a RhinoSkin ShockSuit, and like it, but am thinking of something a little less......ugly.

I have a grey covertec case and really like it. The price is not bad for the quality. Take a look at the website. www.covertec.com

It is basically identical to the Pilot case. I don't know why they don't have more Visor pictures.

Note how the pocket in front holds a stylus. My only complaint is that you can't remove the "nub" that is used to attach to the belt clip, in case you don't want to clip it on. It also fits nicely in a pants pocket (not much bigger than the stock slip case)

I would recommend this case.

- almost forgot ... there is velcro AND a snap at the closer tab.

Okay great! I found the pictures of the regular Cobra nd I like it....but if you can answer one more question for me.

When on the clip, is the stylus opening facing down? It looks that way, as if it could possibly slip out....and I don't want to loose my custom sylus.

Of course, what I really want is to seem the Nubuck Leather version for the Visor....then they have me as a customer!

For added security when traveling, does the Visor click screen-down as well, or only in the whip-open-the-case-and-start-working congiguration?

How tough does the portion normally covering the screen seem? Does it have a hard plastic insert?

The Handspring leather slip-over case that comes with the VDX sticks out past the sides of the Visor. Does the Cobra?

I don't have the case yet, but have been in contact back and forth with the manufacturer.

The Visor can be put in with the screen facing the cover, so it is better protected (one of the reasons I like the design), the cover flap of the case is has a thick padding in it, but I didn't get any info about a plastic insert. It also seem to stick out a bit around the edgeds of the visor. Not much, but perhaps enough in a light bump.

Although they advertise that it can be sync'd in the case, they are misinformed. When I spoke to them about my order they didnt have much "visor specific" information. The only way I could imagine being able to sync in the case is if one attaches the visor to the case using velcro like the Palm models. It is difficult to flip the bottom out very far due to the elastic holding the hard cover to the case itself.

Also, I had a black microfiber case from handspring, and as many posts recorded the snap puts pressure on the screen. I dont see this as an issue with the covertec case. I do like the added security of both a snap and velcro recessed within the snap.

I stand corrected concerning the trim, its a dull rubber with light yellow stitching. Overall, I've been very impressed with the quality of the case. I only wish it was offored in the Nubuck leather that the Palm III cases are available in.

As I said in my original post, I would recomend this case to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive high quality case.

So with the back flipping out a bit, can it be used to prop up the Visor when on a desk or table top?

And an FYI......I was told the Nubuck may be available by Christmas........but I can't wait!!!!!
