Giraffe and all those other fun games. I can't seem to find 'em! What am I doing wrong? I searched the CD-ROM, the Palm desktop folder, etc. No giraffe. Darn. Now I feel dumb again.

Check the Add-ons directory. I believe that's where they're at. so C:\Palm\Addon is where you'll find them.

I can't find them that way..I'm on a Mac.

Actually that confused me in the user guide - it told me to look for the "add-ons" folder and there wasn't any such thing. I finally figured out how to install an application anyway - and I've happily downloaded and installed several apps from the ZDNet site already.

I've searched the CD-ROM itself repeatedly for the Handspring-provided games, as well as the Palm folder it installed on my Mac, and the whole Mac to boot - nada.

Any Mac users who have found the games?

Well, in the PC version the games are in the default directory for loading programs. If that helps.

There should be a folder in your HD called either PALM, PILOT, OR ?VISOR?. In there there are several other folders, one of them should be add-on....if it is not there try going to the install tool and searching; usually ot defaults to the add-on folder with all of the factory games in it.

I have looked in the "Palm" folder six ways to Sunday. The following folders are there:

Conduits
Decors
Holiday Files
Letter Templates
Palm OS Update
Scripts
Tutorial
User Guide
Users

and the Palm Desktop folder, the HotSync Manager, the Conduit Manager, and a coupla Help files.

Within "Users" within the file bearing my name, there is a file marked "Files to Install," which made me hopeful - but it is empty.

I don't understand the last item of sih's advice - "go to the install tool and search"? Do you mean to install the Palm software again?

There must be some other Mac users here.....

By install tool I mean the software that lists the files that are going to installed on the visor the next time you perform a hotsync.

Giraffe isn't there, but the other Palm games can be found at http://www.palm.com/downloads/gameslic.html

Thank you, sih, I have checked there, no dice. Looks like us Mac users got shortchanged in the games department.

Actually it was Giraffe I was most interested in as I am new to Graffiti and could use practice. Actually I'm very pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use Graffiti, I started using it right away and though I still haven't got all the symbols straight, after two days I have all the letters and numbers down cold.

I'm not a Mac user, but you could find somebody else with a Palm/Visor and get them to beam you the app. Or, if you want to email me your email address, I'll gladly send the file to you. Check my profile for my email address.
