I noticed on Card Access's web site that the flash update for the original thinmodem includes File Mover v1.4, which they state addresses the compacting issue? Why hasn't Handspring addressed this directly?

Question USB Filemover

Hi! I just downloaded the USB Filemover from Thinmodem, but can't figure out what to do with it next! I have it on my PC and on my Visor. There doesn't seem to be a read-me file and no help is available on the program.

I know it sounds dumb, but please help!!!

Thanks,

Barb

Hey! Has anyone tried using Recycle or Victor on the RAM module? Any reason this wouldn't work???

Okay...that didn't work...

But...I did get the module to compact SUCCESSFULLY!!!

I was doin' the Happy Dance!!!

I think the key is to always have an amount of free space on both the visor and the module which is at least twice the size of the file(s) being moved.

It shouldn't be too difficult for Handspring to make a command which allows the module to be compacted on command so that we don't have to lose all our data!
