I'm trying to decide on which Visor to get and if it would even be appropriate for me. I haven't actually been able to use one. The store i wish to purchase from doesn't have any working models on display.

My one concern is that my hands tend to shake a bit and i wondered whether it will be to diffcult to write the letters the pda's use. Is there much tolerance in the hand recogniction or do you have to be really acurate when you write?

If there is no problem with that then i'm trying between the Platinium or Prism.

Thanks for the help.

Smile Be careful with tiny buttons

You shouldn't have any problems with the Graffiti, even if your hands are a little shakey. (I'm a caffiene addict, so I'm pretty much shaking all the time) Just be aware that all palm devices have TINY screens, resulting in even buttons that are even smaller. If you're shaking prevents you from accurately hitting a square measuring 1/8 inch on it's side, then you might have problems. If not, then buy it, and invest an extra $100 on a collapsable keyboard. It's worth it. :-)

I would recommend taking a few minutes and finding a friend/collegue who has any kind of Palm OS device and trying it out for a few minutes. You may also want to try a retailer like Best Buy as I'm sure they'll plug one in and let you try (I know the Staples and OfficeMax type stores don't have working models).

Also, buy the Targus Stowaway Keyboard for $99 -- it's a full-size keyboard and well worth it.

as far as the Platinum v. the Prism -- I own a Prism and have also had numerous Palm devices in the past. The color screen (and the black on white printing on non-color apps) is so much easier to read there's no comparison -- unless -- you need to use the device alot in direct sunlight -- then you wouldn't want the Prism as the color screen doesn't perform well in that scenario.

Lastly, there's a ton of stylus out there including cross pens and the large cushioned grip pilot pentopia that are a lot easier to write with (and control) than the small stylus that comes with any of these units.

Hope this helps - any more ??'s please post.

My grandmother had a little palsy which caused her hand to shake. It embarassed her especially when she had to write her name, as it always appeared shaky.

I'm the family problem solver. I told her to extend her pinkie finger down to register (brace) against the edge of her checkbook or whatever she was signing. It helped in many more cases than not. It was her arm that shook more than her hand, and by bracing her hand the shaking of her writing was reduced.

By registering your hand against the side of a Visor with your pinkie, you may be able to minimize the shake as you wield the stylus.

I hope that helps. My Grandmother couldn't stop thanking me.
