Question Re Selling or Trading Visor Phone Serial Number

Just curious if anybody knows -

If I sell or trade my Visor Phone serial number to someone so that they can get the $150.00 discount on the new Treo, will I still be able to make any claims against my Visor Phone warranty?

Has anybody done this? If so, is the VP serial number all that is needed?
