With the transparencies, the screen looks just as it does without them -- shiny and clear -- with one minor exception. With the transparencies I'm using I notice 'rainbow rings' (like oil in water) in various places. They are barely noticeable, and at a few cents apiece the price is right!

Here's a strange one: don't clean your screen with windex!

I cleaned mine, will look absolutely perfect, but will scratch too easily. The surface becomes really rough with the default stylus and my graffiti area is scratched up now. So I went and really fingerprinted the screen, wiped it with my fingers to put some smudge on it, and now it's really slippery again!

I'm using overhead transparency sheets to make home-made screen protectors. It is just as shiny as the naked screen, and it doesn't seem to obscure the screen any.

The reflections are annoying, though.

Other people have suggested transparency sheets designed for laser printing. These have a slightly matte finish on one side. It obscures the screen a bit, but cuts down on glare.

I'll give it a try and let you know.

I am an 8th grader at KASD (kutztown area school district) and the transparancty film my teachers use on the projector will work for the visor...and what are the exact dimensions that i have to cut it?

The visor screen is 6cm wide by 8.1cm high.
The idea is to cut a piece of transparancy film 7cm wide by 8.1cm high.
The extra centimeter is inserted under the left and right edges of the case to hold it in place.
You might have to loosen the screws on the back of the case if the fit is too tight. Tighten the screws once the tranparancy is inserted.
