Exclamation

It amazes me how often I see people comment on "my handspring resets everytime I pull <insert module name here> module out.

The answer is: You have to exit the module's software to the core launching software BEFORE you pull the module out. Simple as that.

Well, I'm having problems with my Prism resetting even if I do exit the software on the module. I don't think that's the fix to this kind of problem.

Something to consider is that System Hacks, etc. are *always* running, even if you're sitting at the app launcher.

The Palm OS model is based around the idea that everything is there all of the time -- databases, memory, etc.

Handspring went through a *lot* of hoops to work the plug-n-play insertion/removal into the OS, but even they can't hide these issues from hacks. Thats because hacks will patch in their calls at even a lower level than the OS, in some cases.

As a springboard developer we have rarely if ever seen reset problems on insertion/removal when not running the built-in software, etc., when we're talking about a 'fresh' Visor. However, the reality is that more people than imagined are using some hack or another.

Exclamation AudibleAdvisor module from CardAccess

Hey CardAccess! I'm glad to see someone from your company checks these boards - that's real assuring!

While I have your attention - when are you planning on releasing the AudibleAdvisor?

I admire that you guys don't play the old "vaporware" game like some of the others - but in a desperate situation - my rio is dying and I want to know a ballpark timeline so I can decide to go w/o audible content for a few months - or buy another rio from audible.com which will lock me into that device and their service for a full year.

I'd hate for your module to come out a few months later and not be able to buy it for a full year!
