I just bought a serial cable to connect my Sanyo SCP4000 cell phone to my Visor Deluxe. I have Sprint PCS cellular service with the wireless data connection service. I am running Palm OS 3.1H3M. I configured the network preferences and created the new connection as described in the documentation that came with the serial cable.

However, I get the message, "error: modem not found (0x1106)".

I called Sprint PCS for tech. support. They told me that I need to contact Handspring for the 3.2 OS upgrade, which I've never seen available for the Visor Deluxe! Also, the documentation says that Palm OS 3.1 WILL work with the serial connection. Sprint also said it's only a 50-50 chance it would work anyway, so if it doesn't... too bad! Finally, the techician said to me that Visor is supported, but Visor Deluxe is not, which also conflicts with the documenentation that came with the serial cable.

What Sprint said does not sound very accurate to me. Has anyone else been able to get this to work? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Sanyo 4500

I've got a Sanyo 4500 and am in the same boat as you in every other aspect. There is another thread in which dalamar70 was able to do it. (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...mp;pagenumber=1)
