Question

I downloaded and installed DateBk4, the 45 day free trial to see if I liked it. I love the features it has and the way it incorporates the TODO, Datebk and the Memo pad. I really need that feature and I haven't figured out how to do it with the standard Datebk+, if it even does it. But I was having real problems with fatal exception errors and it resetting my Blue VDx. Can anyone tell me if the paid for version still has these problems or is this a free trial issue? Please help!

I have the same problem but it corrupts the database, even with the paid ver. The funny thing is they (makers of DBK4) told me to delete the database and when I do it then thinks my 45 day trial is over, basicly looses my Reg. Number. So, I put my Reg. number in but now it won't forward my floating events!!! I don't know if the program still thinks I have the trial version or what, even after I enter the number?

Any Ideas
pat

You might want to check out the pimlicodatebk list at egroups. All kinds of good info specifically concerning (mostly DateBK4) and CESD (the program's author) responds to questions on a regular basis. There are a number of power users on the list that may be able to help.

Also, I suggest you download the datebkstub program from pimlico's site. It will mask DateBK+ and prevent interference with DateBK4.

Question

Thanks for the tips. I actually did install the stub and I still had problems. Does anyone know of a different program out there that has similar features?

Hrmp. I've been using Datebk4 for about a month with no problems.

Oh well. I've heard lots of nice things about a product called Action Names.

I forget the website but you can link to them from Palmgear.com (I noticed there's another update to AN posted within the last 24 or so hours).

nikNga, since you're having problems with DateBk4, was there something in that version that DateBk3 did not have that you had to have?

Question

I'm not sure. I'm a new Visor user. I liked the way Datebk 4 connected the ToDo and the Memo pad. Does version 3 do that? I really don't know.

Hmmp. Silly user, do you not know that PalmGear is the source of all Palmware?
You can find it here: http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...amp;prodID=3435

There is a head to head comparison between Datebk4 and Actions Names here: http://www.jeffkirvin.com/writingon...olumn000619.htm

Talking

as far as action names goes, i love it. i haven't used DB4, but after reading jeff kirvin's review, i knew i wouldn't need to. i've been a very happy AN user for months.

as to the original problem... with all this broohaha about DRAM, something just clicked: have you guys done the DRAM test? maybe it's something to do with that...
