Question Where to get a firmware update for Xircom Wireless

I have been reading through the forum for a while now and I'm trying to resolve a stupid connectivity problem with my Visor Prism and the Xircom Springport wireless. So far I have managed to work with encryption enabled (128bit) and power management disabled. Problem is Blazer absolutely refuses to connect 50% of the time when using either a Linksys 4port wireless router/switch or a D-Link with the same specs (DI-614+) Works very well at work where we use Cisco APs. I have the latest firmware on both routers so I'm thinking it's time to look for a firmware update for the Xircom now. I'm currently on SW Ver. 1.13 and FW Ver. 3.82, is there a newer version (someone here mentioned 1.15) and how do I get it? Could someone e-mail it to me? Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks.

Sorry, but I'm not aware of a FW upgrade (mine's 3.82). Even after the SW upgrade to 1.15, it still reports 1.13 in Options/About - however, starting the Springport application, selecting Status, then Advanced Status/Software Information shows 1.15. Not that it helps, but I've had no problems with a Netgear MR314 router (128 bit encryption enabled, dynamic IP from SBC DSL), Blazer 2.0 (or Eudora or MultiMail SE), and power management enabled on the Xircom. Good Luck!

Working with D-Link DI-614+

Got all the bugs worked out a couple months back and have had no problems running to the 614+. Have just downloaded the SW release 1.15 but haven't yet installed it. The 614+ was a bit buggy with some wired devices, requiring it be rebooted a lot. However the latest firmware update has solved that problem. I just wish you could turn off the SID broadcast and still have the Xircom work.

What visor is everyone using?

Hi,

I am having trouble getting the Visor Deluxe to work with the Xircom Wireless EThernet module. Can someone here let me know what Visor you are using with the SWE? Maybe it's the Palm OS on my Visor Deluxe that's the problem.

Thanks for any info.

I'm not actually getting any error messages. It does not seem to be communicating with the DLink 614+.

Check my other post on this requesting help, and the settings I am using. I started a new thread as I was not getting any responses with my email buried deep within this thread.
