Unhappy

I installed Avantgo a week ago. It worked fairly well until about two days ago. Avantgo would crash on me when I was trying to read a story and I would get this error message "Fatal Error: ScrDriverNew.c, Line:500, Invalid Params." It happens if I try to scroll up or down. But, I have to be reading a story to get it to happen. These are the other apps I have installed:
Accu4Pilot, Graffiti, libmal, Mobile Link, Palm Print, and Runtime. Has anyone else experienced problems w/ Avantgo ??? Any advice? Thx

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I was scrolling down to read a story and I received a fatal error message (I think it was the same one, although I didn't make a note of it). The message had a button to tap for a reset. I tapped it, but the screen came back with a dark streak in the middle. I then performed a soft reset, adjusted the contrasted (which was way right) and all was back to normal.

I did read that there is an AvantGo upgrade. I know that I have version 3.1 Build 152, while PDAEnvy has 3.2 Build 152. I don't know if it is related, but here is the other thread.

NO, it's not the visor. It's AvantGo. I had the same problem after trying to sync a couple of new channels. (CNNSI was the culprit i think...it's not Palm-formatted so you end up with ALOT of junk)

The quick and sure-fire fix is to delete AvantGo from your Visor. Then re-run the AvantGo .exe file that sets up your visor while connected to the internet (you did keep that .exe file on your desktop right?...right?!!!) You just need to reinstall AvantGo.

I think certain 'un-formated' channels screw some settings up in the software on your visor.

Exclamation

I have attempted to reinstall the Avantgo software several times. Doing so after both soft and hard resets. Plus, leaving nothing else on my Visor except the Avantgo client. I even deleted all the news stories and re-downloaded them. My primary culprits were ZDNet, PC World, and Business Week Online. I've only used the default Avantgo Channels, not setting up the custom channels. Any more Advice? Thx.

I had the same problem. Deleted all pages in the Online Cache Manager as well as those pages in the Forms Manager. I can't see how that would be different from deleting and reinstalling, but it worked for me.

ok, i'm a believer.

i re-installed AvantGo last friday (as explained above) and thought the problem went away.
As a matter of fact, i could view the pages that didn't work the first time AFTER re-installing avantgo!!
today i hotsynced at work and came home to read the news on the visor and ... the same error came up ...scrdrivernew.c blah blah..etc.

i've emailed avantgo on their site (i suggest everyone else with this problem do the same as it seems a little too widespread to be a small case). if you click on 'help' it'll get you to a form page where you can describe the problem.

Interesting note: the error only occurs for me whenever an image is contained in the text. ie: the Innogear Q/A article on the Visorcentral channel...
Error doesn't occur if the page is all text.

i'm sure it's an avantgo syncing problem. it's odd that it would start all of a sudden like this and only occur when viewing articles in avantgo. i'd put money down on it not being a visor problem.

Definitely not an isolated problem. I'm getting fatal errors as well. I've uninstalled avantgo all together. I tried deleting all channels but even then I get fatal error when I tap on avantgo.

I'm not going to reinstall until avantgo or somebody figures this out
