I just thought I'd point out that Alex Schwartz spelled backwards is Ztrawhcs Xela. The plot thickens...

THIS JUST IN: The letters can be rearranged to spell: WELSH TAX CZAR!

And as we all know, Xela is the secret name of Joseph of Aramathea, who developed the little known Visor Grail. The VGR, as it was called, had the first ever expansion slot on a PDA, called the "Bloodofthelambboard". Alas, it was announced ahead of its ship date, and although demand for the "eternal battery life" feature was high, the manufacturer was only able to produce one model.

However, rumors that the Templars have kept ths VisorGrail have persisted, and it is believed that with the advent of the Holy SteveJobs order, religious technology has advanced to the point where the VisorGrail can be mass produced.

And with the simple addition of the letters D, E, R, R, I, N, G, and the ommission of several, you can spell:

RED HERRING!

Now, we know the truth about these rumors!

Well, just call them on it

Did anyone call handspring and ask to speak with Alex?
Or call all those alex's in the phone list and ask them why they registered the site?

Ok, that would be an invasion of privacy, but damnit, it's a small price to pay in our quest to find out the status of the next round of visors. (/sarcasm)

May the Schwartz be with you...

Be Patient

Remember, confirmation of whether this is all true or not will come on Sunday when the Platinum and Edge are supposed to have a drop in price.

Maybe ill call...

Yeah, you heard me...I just dont want any or all of the Alex's to *69 me and complain to my parents, so maybe ill do it over Dialpad.com....

Heres what i know....

A while back, someone i knew had a Visor Deluxe and said he was going to wait to upgrade when the Visor Edge Color came out, he said he knew it was going to be released because he found out from CompUSA, this was last year though....so i dont know if he was lieing or not. But alot of people around here are converting to Palm, i know, if the m505 Minstrel Modem was not so expensive, i to would be a converter, because thats the only thing holding me back.

My 2cents worth....

Handspring told me twice on the phone that there would be a color edge sometime this year, but would not confirm a date. Only that it would come out sometime later this year.

I talked to two different support people when I was deciding on either the m505 or the vaporware Handspring product....

For what it's worth, I think September is the release timeframe, so that they can be ready for the holiday season...

Nah...the Matrix has him. He just needs a Visor Neo to come set him free. Take the Red One.

Just got off the phone with HS Customer Care(Replacing my Prism ) I asked him if he's heard about any new devices and he said "no". I even asked him about an Alex Schwartz. He had never heard of him either. hmmmmmm.....

CNET seems to have some of its facts wrong. Read:

quote:
In replacing the Deluxe, Handspring is discarding its best-selling model, which was one of the company's first two products when it was introduced in April 2000.

Huh? The Visor Deluxe was introduced in September 99.

Interesting quote from CNET article:

quote:
However, Baker questioned the timing of Palm and Handspring's product introductions, noting that they will likely miss the back-to-school season

That's what I've been wondering about myself. Why is Palm and HS blowing their chance of tapping into the Back to School market by releasing these products so late in the season?!?

At least they have a jump on the holiday season.

Yawn!

This was just posted at 1:40PT

Nothing new: Handspring replacing existing stuff. I'm just wondering if the M125 is the only new Palm unit that will be released on the 24th?

Wonder if Palm has a hidden surprise?

Sorry about the duplicated link to the c/net article but in the time it took me to post FooFighter's link got posted before mine and I'm not a slow typist.

I don't think so, foo, I got three kids and we haven't even thought about back to school stuff. Many of their friends are still away at camp for another week or two.

If you walk into Staples, Office Max, etc. they're just beginning to stock up on the back to school supplies.

Highend technolust crazed users like most of us on the board would buy an new unit (assuming we had the dough) any time of the year. These models would be priced correctly for High School and college age students.

The really relevant part about these articles if true, is that (for most of us at least) the new models are: B..O..R..I...G. No color, no wireless nothing flashy. They may, and probably will have grey scale and more memory, but if this is true, nothing to excite me or make me run out and buy one.

Actually, I'm hoping the articles are wrong!
