Red face

I just got a Visor Deluxe, and it works fine when I just use it clean (when I first got it and after a hard reset). After syncing it with my old Palm V data (and some of the applications it looks like), I get constant Fatal Errors.

If I leave the VD on (for a minute or two) I will inevitably get either a lock up (just freezing) or more often, a Fatal Error (blank box) or a Fatal Error, Preferences.c, Line:166, PrefDB Open Error. I'm able to recover w/ a soft reset. Once or twice it has locked up hard.

I'm using a plain synchronize w/ Pocket Mirror. Is there a list of incompatible software and how I can get rid the of that stuff (from my user directory before syncing?) I'm stumped.

Also, I've called the Handspring Tech Support, but it forwards me to their sales line! I've been waiting for quite a while so far... They also don't have any email addresses available. blech.

Have you checked the incompatability list?

These apps are known to cause problems like you are describing.

I think that the problem is probably with one of the databases that you synched from the Palm V. Here's two ways that you could try to eliminate these databases and allow them to be recreated.
1. Hard reset and just copy over the applications from the Palm V
OR
2. Use a utility like DB Explorer (http://www.fatal-error.com/software.html)to go through and delete all the databases you don't need.
