Unhappy

i have already seen this topic a couple of times here, and in an effort to NOt be repetitive, i have looked through them, and tried the sugestions, and my Visor Deluxe STILL wont sync! i am ready to throw this little thing against the wall i am so frustrated!!!!!!

It used to sync all the time, NOW it wants to be picky! i am on a g4/OS9.0.4. Now, for the visor, I have tried to get that patch of the handspring site, which, i downloaded, and tried to install, BUT it is saying i need desktop version 2.5 or later, WHICH, i then also downloaded, but how am i supposed to get that loaded up IF the thing wont sync?? i have reinstalled the software upteen times, i have tried every port, used my hub, NOt used the hub, unplugged all other usb devices, i even tried the static thingy! It will start, then, get to the last phase of syncing, and quit, i will get the error

:serial port monitor has quit because of an error type 2.

what's with this serial monitor??? is it DEFECTIVE? i have had my visor for about 5 months, and this is sorta becoming a problem lately! it synced once yesterday by chance, after not syncing for WEEKS. i tried to do another sync after that one, and it was back to the same old same old. I have used this cradle on 2 g4's one at home,a nd one at work, it used to work at the office, and started acting funny, so i brought it home, where it worked for a while, and is now acting funny here. WHAT NOW???

If anyone has AOL instant messenger, i am on now, give me a buzz please!

My VDX decided to stop hotsyncing to my iMac (9.0.4) with no apparent change on either side. It just refused to ever see the desktop and vice versa. I ended up having to use a hard reset and reload everything, and have since bought a backup module.

Don't forget to try the MacOS long shots too though, like trashing preferences and app files before reinstalling, zapping the PRAM, or powering down the mac for a few minutes before restarting...

Error 2 means you have to allocate more memory to the serial port monitor ,HotSync Manager and Conduit Manager

Have u tried doing a Soft Reset for your Handspring? My Prism stopped syncing and the charging light remained lit the whole time for a while until I did a Soft Reset then everything turns ok again....

Hope that helped.
