Hello. I have started re-using my Visor Dlx after an eight-month hiatus. (purchased November 99, then stopped using about May 2000). I wonder if in the meantime any solutions have developed for:

1. USB sync-ing for Win95. I have to use the bulky serial cradle, and would prefer to use USB, since there is a non-bulky travel USB cable. But last I looked, USB and Win95 didn't work together.

2. Serial travel cable (non-bulky).

3. IR-sync-ing. again, six months ago, Ir-Synch didn't work well, there were some third party developers starting, but not ready for prime time then. Any news?

Thanks in advance!

Re #1: None exists successfully; Win95's USB support is partial-- it contains a subset of the USB support found in 98/ME/2K. You might have seen some third-party USB enabling software for 95... but no one (at least publicly) has gotten them to work with a Handspring USB cradle. In some cases, the enabling software only support a limited set of USB devices... if your desired USB device isn't on their list, you're either SOL or have to contact the device manufacture (Handspring) to write a special USB driver for use with that third-party enabler.

And there's also the possibility that the API the Handspring-modified HotSync Manager needs just doesn't exist in Win 95 OSR2 or in any third party solutions.

Re #2: See Mark/Space (http://www.markspace.com./products.html) for a Visor serial cable.

Mark/Space has been discussed in other threads.

Re #3: See http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wir...da_hotsync.html

..for instructions (you'll want to pay particular attention to page 2).
