Seeing Matrix: Revolutions On Opening Day??

Hype thread from Matrix: Reloaded...

Debating whether it's worth seeing Matrix: Revolutions on opening day on 11/05 -- which is 8 days from today and will be a simultaneous global premiere of the movie. I live less than 10 miles from an IMAX Experience theatre.

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

I have my ticket already for the first show (12:30 pm) on opening day. I had some vacation days left from the summer (we had someone leave the department then, so I couldn't take my scheduled days), so I'm taking the day off. Personally, I'm not that hyped on IMAX for movies. Narrower aspect ratio and shorter runtimes eliminate any postives of the larger screen for me.

Just got my tickets to IMAX for next sat. Saw "Reloaded" on IMAX 3 weeks ago, it was so sick. The car chase scene crazy. Only thing was the scene with the multiple smith u could really see the CG effects.

I read in USA on thurs. That they are going back to more of the original formula. Not just an action movie with dialogue but a little more intellectual approach.

My local theater shows sneak previews the night before the opening day. The show usually starts at around 10:00 p.m.

I'm not sure how they do it, but they don't really advertise it - so the theater usually isn't full.

So, I'm going to see it on Tuesday!

By the way, I really wasn't too impressed with Reloaded the first time I saw it. But I saw it again (and again), and liked it LOTS more.

You're the second person who has said something about seeing the CG affects...can you give an example or two?

So the movies aren't the same? Revolutions on Imax will be shorter? I find that hard to believe, but I guess it's possible.

A lot of the IMAX equipment out there can only show movies that run less than two hours. I think that there is newer equipment available that can go longer than that, but I'm not sure that they'll do two IMAX transfers.

I have five tickets already for myself and pals.

We're going tomorrow, opening night, at 9:30 PM.

We all watched Reloaded on our 53" HDTV a couple days ago so now we're prepared

I saw Attach of the Clones on IMAX and it was definitely edited. Thankfully, they just took out all the sappy lovin and character development stuff.

As much as the picture and sound in IMAX movies are awesome, I found it too much for such an action oriented movie. For example, the scene where they're chansing the assasination probe through Coruscant almost made me sick. There was just too much movement that was too close to be able to take it all in. I just saw blurs.

I'll also comment on the CGI in the Smiths scene. It was quite impressive, but you can see a couple of artifacts. The biggest is when Neo twirls in the air or spins around the pole, kicking Smiths. You can tell he and his clothes are CGI. I've also heard you can see the stunt men's actual hair styles as they start to walk away at the end of the scene, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Dan.

I saw it last night at a screening in Los Angeles. Cool! :-) It was an industry event, but that didn't prevent the studio from scanning everyone with a metal detector to make sure they didn't have any recording devices - or phones with a camera (yes, they asked that specifically)!

I guess that was the ONLY good thing about not having my Treo 600 yet.

Picture This Matrix!

Saw Revolutions tonight ( Friday 11/07).

Better than the second one (which seemed like a commercail for this one).

Still not as good as the first. Then again, I guess you can never go back to that magic.

Snapped this in the theatre. Good thing there weren't any "NEO-nazis" working the door looking for cameras. ( GET it? "NEO")
