visor deluxe backlight not working. any ideas ?

hi. my visor deluxe backlight does not work.

when i keep the power button depressed, it should turn on. instead, it comes on for an instant, makes a click sound, and goes off. that is, it does not stay on at all. i've tried everything. from a soft reset, warm reset, to a hard reset.

using OS 3.1H2 and 3.1H3 i get the same result.

any ideas ? how exactly does the backlight circuitry for the visor deluxe function ? i have another working visor that i tested with (by mixing and matching the various parts), and found that the screen (digitizer top/LCD) circuitry, as well as the power buttons and the buttons board are working fine. The problem is isolated to the mainboard. what part of the circuit should i check ? and how could this be repaired ?

i'm already out of warranty anyways, so i'm willing to try any options you might suggest. thanks a lot.

Yikes. I was going to suggest unplugging the screen from the mainboard, but obviously you've already tried that out. I'm stumped. Good luck though!

Yeah, I know. That wasn't very helpful. Sorry
