Question

I lost my Visor Deluxe this past weekend, and need to replace it soon (it's like having my oxygen flow cut off). I'm trying to decide between a Platinum & a Prism. The idea of color is really cool, BUT I still have all my Deluxe cradles & one of the old Handspring Modems for when I travel.

I know that I'll have to use a new Prism cradle to recharge the battery at one of my computers, but will the old cradle still HotSync at my other computer? Will the old Modem still work with the Prism, or do I have to buy one of the newer 56k modems?

I'd like a Prism, but if I start having to add extra cradles, a travel battery recharger and a new modem, the cost is going to go through the roof.

Thanks!

I believe the modem will work with the prism, should not be a problem.

Go with Prism!
Your modem will work just fine!
and the cradle for prism is included with the Prism.
Your old cradle will not work with the Prism.
Good luck!

Sorry for your loss.

With the above criteria, I would buy the plat.

First, as said by others, the modem will work.
I was in a similar situation about a week ago, I *thought* I had lost my VDX. I dithered back and forth, complained to myself about the cost of the Prism, and then got the Platinum. Well, it was a disappointment. Sure it did all the things it was supposed to, it had gray scale and was faster (though that had never been a problem for me)but...somehow, it just didn't have the thrill it should have of getting a new Visor. It was just...Okay, I replaced my trusty VDX. After a couple of days, I went -- just to look at the Prism. Not to buy. But...well, I bought it the day after.
I absolutely, positively love it. Album to Go was drab on my VDX, like the story about the talking dog. He didn't say much, it was just the fact that he did. But on the Prism, it is outstanding. I've also been playing with TealMovie, and Fireviewer, installing all color programs and games (or in some cases, seeing what my old programs like BugMe!, Bubblet, NoMess, Pyramid etc. look like in color. Datebook4 is great in color and even Documents to Go can have color fonts. Color pix in Visor Central on AvantGo or Blazer? You don't want to know about them unless you're definitely going to get a Prism.
You didn't say anything in your post about the cost difference between the Plat and the Prism. If that is not a *big* issue, Go for the Prism.

P.S. - I found my VDX, but I don't know what I'm going to do with it. I almost feel sad about leaving it behind.
