My BVd came today and it is in fine shape, everything works, the thing feels solid as a rock and the stylus has no offending burrs or rough spots. I used the visor for three hours tonight and not aa single mark, scratch or blemish.

Maybe Handspring has corrected their problems. I got the unit in 20 days!

I spoke with the Manager of Engineering at Handspring and he tells me the problem was isolated and corrected. Only good styli are going out now. Who knows, maybe it's true?

I'm optimistic. Seems they're fixing things over there.

I week ago I got my BVD via express shipping. It took 14 days to deliver and came perfect. My stylus is perfect too. No problems.

However, my friend ordered a GVD with a serial cradle, it took 24 hrs. more to come. It came fine too, good stylus and all. However, it isn't foolproof. He tried to write graffiti (didn't know there were 2 sides to the graffiti area) and etched a 5 into his screen by pressing way too hard. As long as you treat as a piece of electronics, not a piece of paper, you should be OK.

Back to the stylus issue, since me and my friend both got a good one, I think all is OK now. I do use WriteRights though, since, as with all Palm devices (further explained with my friends visor above)scratched still happen if you have bad luck.
