Exclamation

This has happened a couple of times when I tried to hotsync:

-I place the Visor in it's cradle (plugged directly into the PC, and which usually works just fine)

-my PC's screen immediately goes blank (the PC is knocked out cold; only a full power off reboot works)

-the Visor goes flooey; looks like a line going down the left side, or the Palm Software startup screen comes up.

-Visor won't soft or hard reset, and it's still on!

-I have to remove the batteries (which are now very WARM) to restart the Visor, but of course all my data that I was just trying to sync is lost. Also, my brand new batteries which were 100% 2 minutes ago are now at 65%.

The fact that it blows out the PC and the Visor and leaves the batteries hot makes me suspect a short. Anyone else experiencing this?

I wish Handspring would initiate an on-line or e-mail help portal. They must surely realize that almost nobody goes looking for help online because they're pleased as punch with the product. Makes 'em look bad.
